Rose, thank you for the very important reminder to ask the parents first. You also reminded me that the dollar store has toys, stuffed animals and games. These would work also.

What a great idea – I usually carry small stuffed toys for the kids at the destination but never thought of giving them to the kids on a trip – I have read to restless children or just played with them too. Mind you – some parents will not accept you giving toys or anything else to their children so you have to be sure to ask the parents first otherwise the children could end up being more upset that they already were. But great idea – thanks!!
